Quantum Gravity
Second Foundation’s first year kicks off by celebrating those heterodox individuals who were unafraid to pursue what to them seemed to be fundamental questions about the physics of computation and the universe.
Indeed this is still sitting at the margins.
Furthemore people who doggedly stayed true to Einstein’s concepts and put together the most fundamental fields of physics in the 20th century and beyond: general relativity and quantum mechanics. Alongside this, the disguised scientists and social scientists who chafed at the notion that science does not fundamentally involve the spiritual, as well as the physical.
At the same time as part of celebrating the visionaries of the past and present, we celebrate the visionaries of the future―who uncoincidentally, work in fields that they believe passionately are important―despite the fact that they are not part of the scientific or cultural mainstream.
